My Skin Care Routine

I know people like reading these type of things so I figured I'd do one! My skin type is oily/combination and acne prone.

MORNING:
I start with my facial cleanser, Orgins Zero Oil Deep Pore Cleanser, $18.50. I find this really controls oil throughout the day and cleans my face without over drying. I apply this all over my face in the shower and then massage it in using my Olay Pro-X Cleansing Brush, $30.00. This is the first cleansing brush I've owned. I've wanted a Clairsonic for awhile and all the reviews I've read have said this is a good dupe. I like it because it works the cleanser into your skin and exfoliates well. After I rinse my face, if I feel I need a little more exfoliation, I'll use C. Booth Vitamin C Facial Scrub, $13.99. This is a gentle scrub that really smoothes your skin.

After cleansing, I use my Clinique Clarifying Lotion number 3, $12.50-$21.00. This is the only part of the three step I like. I purchased the entire three step system and didn't like the cleanser or moisturizer.

After the toner, I use my prescription Benzaclin for my acne. This stuff really dries my skin out so I need a good moisturizer. For that, I use Garnier Moisture Rescue Gel Creme, $7.00. It moisturizers well, without clogging my pores.

NIGHT:
My night routine is pretty much the same except instead of my Olay Cleansing Brush, I use Clinique 7 Day Scrub Cream, $18.50. I use this before my cleanser and then do the same steps as my morning routine.

That's it! Those are the products I use daily to keep my skin somewhat good looking. What are your favorite skin care items? Leave me a comment!

REVIEW: Clearasil Acne+ Marks Face Wash and Mask

I've been using this for about 4 months now. It has faded my acne marks a little bit but it does not help with active acne. I actually found that I broke out more when using this as my cleanser. What I usually do is use a cleanser that I know will keep my acne in check and use this as a mask. It's cheap enough to try but I wouldn't have high hopes for this product.

I tried to get a close up of my eyeshadow but its to light to register on my camera. It's just a neutral blend of pink, gold and chocolate brown :)

Mini Haul

Just bought some products I thought I'd share with you all!

Burts Bees Tinted Lip Balm in Hibiscus
This is a nice shade of pink perfect for the summer. Its got a nice feel when you wear it, not to drying and not to waxy. Here's a comparison between my lip shade when I wear it:
Without
With! I love the color!

Maybelline Great Lash Mascara in Green Envy
Can you believe I've never owned a Great Lash mascara? I don't even need another mascara since I have so many but I love tinted mascaras and all the others I've bought have been to clumpy. This is the best of both worlds. The tint is subtle so its a great option when you want to change things up.

Garnier Nutriste Mositure Rescue Gel Creme
This is a repurchase. My skin used to be really oily but over the past couple months its been drier. I've also started using a prescription acne cream that dries my skin. This stuff hydrates well without clogging my pores and causing breakouts. I consider it a good dupe for Cliniques Dramatically Different moisturizing gel although I actually think this moisturizes better. This doesn't contain a sunscreen so make sure you apply one in the morning!

So there you have it! Three products that I bought and have been liking so far!

Thoughts? Suggestions? Leave me a comment!

Requested Blog-Face/hair masks

I had a request for hair and face masks. So I'm going to share a few homemade and store bought masks I like!

The first is a homemade mask. I have oily acne prone skin so this mask is good for my skin type. All you need is honey, aspirin and water! First, I take 2 or 3 aspirin tablets (the non coasted white kind...you can also buy powdered aspirin) and put them in a little bowl. I put a few drops of water on them, just enough to start the dissolving. After a minute, gently crush them up into a paste. Then add about as much honey as you have paste and blend. You can use any honey but I usually use organic just because I am super careful of what I put on my face. You can use this on your whole face of on specific pimples. I usually apply to cleansed skin and leave it on for between 10 and 20 minutes then tone and moisturize.

This mask is a good mask because it has natural salicylic acid from the aspirin and honey is really good because it has natural antibacterial properties and is naturally moisturizing, so your skin doesn't get over dry.

A store bought mask I like is C. Booths Volcanic Mud Mask.

I picked it up at a Rite Aid for about $10. It helps tighten you pores and drys out acne. My skin feels much smoother and firmer after using, the only con is its not a smooth paste like most masks, its more of a crumbly paste which makes application a little messy. But its worth it.

I also like the Freeman line of masks.
You can also get these at Rite Aid. They have a few different ones to choose from so every skin type can find something.

As for hair masks, I don't really use them that much since I have really short hair and I don't heat style it ever. I do dye it but my hair isn't dry. I do like Aussie 3 Minute Miracle the best though. Leavees my hair soft and smooth and smells great!

Hope this helps you guys out! If you have any questions or requests for a blog post, leave me a comment!
