Find Out Friday

Ok so I know its not technically Friday anymore but I got home late! Anyway, welcome to the start of my new series! Basically, I'll be answering beauty or product related questions every Friday! Enjoy!

1. How do you apply foundation? Asked by BeautyBlogger

Since there are basically three types of foundations, here are my recommendations for each.

Liquid: The most common and versatile option. There are three different ways to apply this type. First is with a foundation brush. I usually put a blob of foundation on the back of my hand and use the brush to pick it up. I apply using a criss cross motion to give more natural and even coverage. The second way is with a cosmetic sponge. I tend to prefer the triangle ones since you can get into corners and cracks better. I wet the sponge first to help the foundation go on smoothly and it gives a more dewy look. A wet sponge also doesn't hold as much product so you don't over apply. The final option is just good 'ol fingers. With this method, I place a dot of product on each cheek, forehead and chin and blend. Start with a little bit because you can always add more but its harder to take away!

Powder/Mineral: For this type of foundation, theres 2 options. One, you can use the same technique with a foundation bush as you do for liquid. Or two, with a densely packed powder brush, buff the powder into your skin like Bare Minerals tells you to do. I prefer this method because I think its easier and a more natural look.

Cream: For a cream foundation, I would use a round cosmetic sponge, wet or dry is your preference and using smooth strokes, apply to your skin.

2. What do you do when you feel you need to get a glow? Asked by Me, My Best and I

Exfoliation is the key to a glow! No really, you need to remove dead skin cells to let soft, smooth skin shine through. My favorite is Origins Never A Dull Moment Skin Brightening Face Polisher.
This exfoliator has finely ground apricot and mango seeds and papaya extract. The product isn't to harsh from my experience and it does help give your face a glow. And of course, you can't go wrong with a great highlighter!

I hope I answered your questions adequately! Thanks for asking!
