Brands

I know I posted yesterday that I had two L'Oreal products to review, but when I woke up this morning, I noticed that Katherine over at Handmade Reviews (love her blog, check it out) had posted on her blog a list of cosmetic companies that support the SOPA/PIPA internet censorship bills and had vowed to not post about those companies anymore. L'Oreal was one of the brands.

Since the internet is a great marketing tool for companies, by not reviewing their products I hope to make it clear that this is not a bill to be supported. I hope you all will join me.

To see the list of companies that support SOPA/PIPA, click on my Brands page.

  1. Thanks for supporting the cause too! I personally know how difficult it is to protest these brands that are so often used by beauty bloggers. I thank you and all the great, honest bloggers who put the good of Internet, people and freedom first. :)

It hurts me to see so many bloggers accepting freebies from knowing SOPA supporters and then rave about them on their blog. Sure, you get a freebie or two now, but when the bill passes and all web traffic goes to big media - bloggers are left in the dust. What then?

Sorry for the rambling, but I feel very strongly about this. Thank you again for being an awesome blogger. :)

  2. Thanks for your comment! I am not so well known where I get free products but if I were approached by one of these companies, I now know where their support lies and can tell them directly why their support ultimately hurts those of us who give them a lot of their business in the first place! I would rather buy all my beauty products that I review and support those companies that support my freedom, then get freebies from those companies trying to take it away.

I hope many of my readers will feel the same way :)
